Timeline
I'm still learning about this congregation. Do you know more about them? I would be happy to hear from you!
This is the original Jehovah's Witness congregation in Kamloops.
1948: Albert and Martha Myers began holding meetings in their home.
1955: Property was purchased at the corner of Leigh Road and Fairview Avenue. A volunteer workforce began planning and building a hall.
1957: In the fall, the building was completed sufficiently ot begin holding meetings.
April 1959: The Kingdom Hall on Leigh Road was officially dedicated.
1960: The original congregation was divided into two units due to increasing numbers. This became known as the Leigh congregation. John Mumford, who had been the presiding minister of the Kamloops congregation until the division, and who served as the city overseer at the time, became the presiding minister of this congregation.
2010/2011: The Jehovah's Witnesses were approached and asked if they would like to purchase the land next door to their existing building, at 270 Leigh Road. They had always had parking issues at the existing building, due to a small lot size. They purchased the land, put together a building committe, and a volunteer workforce of local Jehovah's Witnesses built the hall at 270 Leigh Road. They moved to the new building and sold the building on the corner of Leigh and Fairview.

Leadership History
For Jehovah's Witnesses, there are no "leaders" in congregations. However, for administrative purposes, men volunteer to serve as the "presiding minister" of a congregation for a temporary period of time. Through the years, some ministers were more public about their role than others.
1949-1960: John D Mumford
