2797 Sunset Drive
Holy Family Parish
2797 Sunset Drive is a large church at the east end of Sunset Drive in Valleyview. It's part of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kamloops and was built for the Holy Family Parish congregation. Construction was completed for the original building in June 1984. The current form of the building was completed in 1994.
Currently, the Holy Family Parish still meets here.
Timeline:
1981: Location of a Catholic Church in the east of Kamloops selected by His Excellency Bishop Exner.
25 July 1983: Sod-turning ceremony.
27 June 1984: Official opening of original building. Mass celebrated in what is known in today's building as the "foyer".
5 June 1994: Dedication of the Church in its current form.
